Equine Assisted Psychotherapy
Peggy Martin is a licensed Equine Assisted Psychotherapist, able to lead people and horses to work together in a therapeutic process. EAP is exploratory, pragmatic, and hands-on. Various activities lead to meeting specific objectives, enabling both horse and human participants to learn about themselves and others, develop individual skills, and surmount impediments to progress. While EAP can be and is used in conjuction with Peak Performance Training, EAP activities are not limited to horsemanship or athletic goals but lead toward a wide variety of desired changes and insights. Problem-solving skills improve the quality of life in all endeavors. Those who seldom spend time with horses often express surprise at the inherrent honesty of the animals, a welcome change from the tendency of people to say one thing verbally and another through body language. Equine Assisted Psychotherapy produces endless experiences and situations for discussion, analysis and learning in a challenging, refreshing, and rewarding endeavor. | |||||||||
